Don Bosco Youth-Net

DBYN is an international network of youth organisations within the global Don Bosco Movement
Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw assemblies 18 organisations, over 1.000 employees and 9.000 volunteers, who cater for over 120.000 children and young people in 16 European countries.  The task of the network is to create and promote international activities for and by young.  Next to that we create possibilities for our member organisations to share their good practices and start-up new projects together.  Furthermore we represent the voice of Don Bosco young people on European and international level through advocacy work.  All actions which we carry out within the network are based on the pedagogical system of Don Bosco, a pedagogical approach with a tradition of over 170 years.

October 2018 -
DBYN gave a short input about the history of Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw at the 'Workshop on history of international youth organisations'. This workshop was organised by the Youth Partnership of the EU and the CoE. It was the concluding meeting of a 10 year process in which youth researchers developed and exchange historical research on European youth work. The outcomes of this workshop will be published in the 7th and last volume a series of books on the history of European youth work. DBYN's contribution should be published along inputs from other international youth work organisations like the World Scouting Movement, the International Young Nature Friends and the European Confederation of Youth Clubs. By representing the history of Don Bosco Youth-Net at this workshop we aim to promote the educational methodology of Don Bosco as a qualitative method in the past, present and future of European youth work.

How are we financed?

Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw is financed through public funds, private grants, donations and membership fees. We receive a operating grant from the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, as well as a structural grant from the Council of Europe through their European Youth Foundation. For our projects we also work together with these institutions. You can find more information on this in the finance section. We are proud to state we do our work with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, and the Council of Europe's European Youth Foundation. For DBYN this institutional support means a recognition for the work our member organisations and volunteers are doing in the European field of youth work.
