European Summer School of Animators

Project description

Summer school of Animators is a European training course designed by Jeugddienst Don Bosco and Don Bosco Youth-net. The project is developed for international animators and youth workers who want to be trained in and exchange on specific youth work topics in a Salesian context. The training will focus on a few specific topics like: diversity, safeguarding, youth work skills and youth leadership styles, Salesian working style. The aim is to train the skills of the animators, to give them a broader view on these topics and to find new ways to implement them in their vocation as a youth leader.

Pax. will learn a lot from the exchange between young European animators in a non-formal context. Next to this we offer a range of workshops and training sessions where they will improve their youth work skills.  Salesian youth work, young animators catering for other children and young people is the core of our salesian youth work, so we also make a direct link to the pedagogy of Don Bosco during the TC.

Objectives

Summerschool of animators aims to develop different competences of young people in a European context.

The non-formal learning context of Summerschool of Animators enables the pax. to develop specific competences on a very broad level. By bringing together 22 European young people from 10 different countries in another context, we wants to promote European and intercultural awareness. Participants will be encouraged to create and take every learning and exchange opportunity they have during throughout this TC.

We want to empower young people to grow as leaders, as animators in their youth work organizations and in order to strengthen local (Salesian) youthwork.

During the learning process, Youth Pass wil be used as a reflection tool on the participants’ learning process. After the project, every pax. will receive a Youth Pass where the obtained and developed competences will be described.
