Rise: Design for emergent futures

​Project description

‘Rise: Design for emergent futures’ is a training course for youth workers and trainers. It aims to train volunteers of DBYN’s member organisations to increase their knowledge and capacities in non-formal education and youth work. The training course will be organised as a study session in the European Youth Centre of Strasbourg. It takes place from Sunday 26th November until Saturday 2nd December (travel days included).

Objectives

The aim of this study session is to develop new opportunities and methods through emergency times or situations. For this, the objectives are as follows:
  1. To equip our trainers and staff with new tools and resources to adapt more effectively to the changing and challenging times.
  2. To develop deeper understanding of Human Rights based approach for advocacy and build DBYN’s capacity for delivering training and support to its member organisations in this field.
  3. To invest in our pool of trainers and our member organisations by providing them with a qualitative training with the European Youth Centre.
  4. To support the trainers to integrate the values and methods of Human Rights Education and of the Council of Europe in their work.

Profile of participants

Costs

The participants of this study session are expected to improve their expertise in training and facilitation but also in improving the practical implementation of their NFE competences in crisis situations for the benefit of children and young people.
In order to attain this outcome, we’d put forward following profile:
  • 18 – 30 years’ old
  • Active English knowledge
  • Active in local partner organisations of DBYN
  • Experience in inclusion work
  • Experience in European and/or International youth work
  • Experience in facilitation and training
  • Interest/Experience in the topic of Human Rights
  • Being able to act a multiplier within the local community and/or DBYN after the activity
 
There are 25 spots, the activity is open to all DBYN member organisations and youth partners.
  • Travel is reimbursed
  • € 50 participation fee
  • Possibility to apply to DBYN's solidarity fund

Venue
The European Youth Centre Strasbourg (EYCS) is an international training, education and conference centre which hosts participants attending activities organised by the Council of Europe's youth sector or any other entity of the organisation. External event organisers can also request to hold meetings, seminars or training courses in the Centre’s facilities, which include on-site accommodation and catering services.

With its meeting and conference rooms, restaurant area and bedrooms has a capacity of up to 90 people for events and can accommodate up to 90 overnight guests.
