‘Rise Up!’ is a 5-day European training course for (international) trainers, where you can meet people from over 10 European countries. The TC will focus on training basic and advanced competences of trainers. You will get input on intercultural learning processes, general training skills, DBYN’s educational style, safeguarding and conflict management. Additionally you get the chance to actively work in international groups and try new methods and approaches in a safe environment. Next to this you will be sharing your own experiences, work on leadership skills, reflect on intercultural learning processes and much more.  The TC takes at the Burg Wildegg near Vienna (AT). The training course will take place from the 27th of October until the 2nd of November 2017.

Programme
The TC focus on training basic and advanced competences of trainers. The participants will get input on intercultural learning processes, general training skills, DBYN’s educational style, safeguarding and conflict management. The participants will share experiences, best practices and through peer-to-peer learning receive feedback on each other’s approaches. Group reflection and individual guidance will be an important part of the TC since we see this as the ideal process to grow as a young trainer. The trainers will be using different non-formal methods like simulation games, role plays, active reviewing. Next to this the participants will be sharing their own experiences, work on leadership styles, reflect on intercultural learning processes…

As a faith-based organisation we also have a spiritual programme through the TC.  We start and end the day with a Salesian good morning/night, there is an optional daily morning mass, and a final mass at the end of the project. These are moments co-organised by the participants and our Salesian chaplain and aim to make a connection between the programme and the personal value-system of the participants.
Objectives
  1. To train young volunteers to become trainers and facilitators of intercultural learning processes on local and international level.
  2. To improve young people trainers’ competences.
  3. To increase the number of trainers in DBYN’s pool of trainers.
  4. To strengthen the training capacity of local organisations.
Profile participants
The participants of this TC are expected to be or become active as trainers in the sending organizations, by preference in international projects. After a review and evaluation, the participants will have the opportunity to apply to the Pool of Trainers of DBYN and other international organisations. In this way, we involve new junior trainers in the network and we can give young people an opportunity to build up international training experience.
